Philippines' BPI pushes stablecoin payment pilot

Philippine lender BPI is pushing a pilot to settle overseas remittances using stablecoins for freelancers, virtual assistants and others who receive income from abroad. The bank is preparing a payment system aimed at cutting the time and cost of processing inbound funds. The system will be developed with global digital clearing house Meridian, converting stablecoin settlements into Philippine pesos and depositing them into recipients' BPI accounts, while keeping existing banking safeguards.

Odos Protocol to shut down as more crypto platforms close

Odos Protocol, a decentralised exchange aggregation service, will end operations on July 30, requiring users to withdraw assets within a week. Cointelegraph reported that the operating team disclosed the plan on X but did not give a reason. The Odos DAO said it will announce its own plans later, while the ODOS token will remain on-chain. Odos DEX aggregation volume has fallen over the past two years.
