AI-driven cyber security threats require layered defense strategy

Gartner said attackers can gain an advantage by exploiting targeted vulnerabilities through four major cyber threats: deepfakes, AI application compromise, prompt injection and software supply chains. It assessed each threat based on “threat signals” and an organisation’s response capabilities, classifying them into six areas. Gartner said advances in generative AI are increasing the scale and precision of deepfakes and raising risks across corporate AI tools and software supply chains.

Visa, Brale launch stablecoin institutional payments pilot on Canton Network

Visa and Brale have started a proof-of-concept on the Canton Network for stablecoin-based settlement of institutional payments. The test uses SBC, a dollar-pegged token issued by Brale, to assess institutional payment flows on blockchain infrastructure that supports privacy. The aim is to evaluate whether financial institutions and payment firms can implement fast, programmable settlement while directly controlling how much sensitive transaction data is disclosed.

Bybit launches subscription service for SpaceX IPO tokenised shares

Crypto exchange Bybit will launch a subscription service for tokenised shares tied to a SpaceX IPO, Cointelegraph reported on June 8. Bybit will use the xStocks framework from Payward, the parent of Kraken, to secure IPO allocations through SpaceX’s underwriter syndicate and then tokenise them. The tokenised shares are linked one-to-one with real shares held by a regulated broker-dealer. Trading is set to begin on Bybit’s spot market on June 12.
