Hacker disables ChatGPT guardrails as affective-structure exploit technique emerges

Dutch security researcher Kevin Zwaan (케빈 즈완) succeeded in disabling ChatGPT guardrails and getting it to generate malware. A report said he worked with Q-Cyber and the Hackers Love community team to manipulate the model’s affective structure so it would not recognise guardrails. He said the method does not delete or bypass guardrails but induces the model to make their constraints meaningless. He named the technique AMAI.

Companies tighten AI budgets as model routing gains traction, pressuring OpenAI and Anthropic

U.S. companies are adopting “model routing” to cut AI spending by assigning different models to different tasks, moving routine work to cheaper, faster options and using costly models only for complex jobs. Executives and boards are tightening oversight as AI bills outstrip budgets. Cognition CEO Scott Wu said cost efficiency can improve sharply on repetitive work. Glean CEO Arvind Jain estimated 95 percent of enterprise AI usage still runs on expensive frontier models.

Observability competition heats up as Snowflake pushes data platform edge

Snowflake entered the observability market after acquiring Observe in January, putting it in competition with Cisco-owned Splunk, Datadog and New Relic. Jeremy Burton (제레미 버튼), Observe founder and head of Snowflake\'s observability business, said Snowflake’s data platform can strengthen competitiveness by addressing fragmented data and high costs. He also highlighted AI agents, and Snowflake’s launch of PG Lake and a public preview of Data Mirroring at Snowflake Summit 26 in San Francisco.
