U.S. SEC officially recognises blockchain as financial infrastructure innovation technology

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has officially recognised blockchain and digital assets as core technologies for modernising the U.S. financial system and included them as an independent task in its next five-year strategy. In a 2026-2030 strategic draft, it listed digital assets and blockchain as a key policy area and pledged to build a reasonable, consistent, principles-based regulatory framework. It is also coordinating with the CFTC on overlapping rules and conflicts.
